The Spit-Test Has Arrived.

Burgenland takes charge.

The other day whilst driving ( the only time I can listen to the radio ) I heard the news about spit-tests. Corona tests done with spittle and not with that awful earbud for la nose or should I say le brain. The corona numbers have been increasing rather prolifically in our area and finally Burgenland's premier  has taken heed and charge by arranging for a spit-test to be sent to every person in Burgenland. Before Easter too. How great is that?

Testing in the comfort of one's home is nice, easy and without hassle. Organizing a test ( and I have to say, Austria is fabulous in that they do offer free testing ) is not so easy as it involves booking online and using a smartphone. Yikes. Well, Burgenland has cottoned on and are offering testing without having to book beforehand.

A game changer, because let's face it, the easier it is to do the more people are going to make use of it. Imagine if they had a couple of testing-areas outside of town where we all could pop in for a quick test before going to the shops without having to make appointments. Often the solution seems so simple yet politician make it so bureaucratically difficult and diffuse.

This morning when I got back from my walk a brown paper bag was dangling over our gate. The council had handed out two tests for us ( our names on it ) and with great enthusiasm albeit slightly tainted with worry, both of us did the spit-test. One would think that spitting is easy...not so! But, both of us managed and both of us had a negative result. Yeah, no corona...
