The Healing Power Of Rain.

Abundance from nature.

They have been forecasting rain for today since the start of the week and by golly gosh, they were and are right. The heavens have been shedding their tears on and off all morning long.

At first one tends to bemoan rain but then the many positives of it come to mind. The most blatant being that we need rain as even here in the midst of alpine regions, a drought is on the cards. The ground water is receding and everything has that dry feeling to it. Lawns freshly cut turn a dull dried out brown within hours and farmers are worried about their crops. At least for today that worry is taken care of.

The air has that divine watery feel to it and breathing it in is fun. Birds are busy enjoying being pelted by droplets of rain whilst they are playing about in our yard. Plants and flowers are visibly taking in the rain and are emitting a healthy sheen of their own.

Rainy days make reading so very possible. Can there be anything nicer than reading a good book whilst listening to the rain drumming down on the roof? Rain tends to figuratively take on the task of washing away negative emotions, sort of like giving us all a big bath to rid us of our worries.

Worries, there are plenty of those for all of us at the moment. Be they about corona or the worldwide protests being held. Sadly the two overlap and I only hope that those huge crowds of protesters all over the world are not being infected by the sneaky virus. But, judging from what we all had to go through in the last few months, it is a foregone conclusion that a second wave is on the way. Hopefully it wasn't all for nothing.

The world is undergoing a change ( for the better ) right in front of our eyes but somehow it is much harder to comprehend and assimilate in real time than reading it as history from a text book. We all need to find ways to de-pressurize ourselves so that we can meet this new world with the positive outlook and feelings it deserves.
