And The Tree Goes...

Mixed feelings about saying goodbye to our walnut tree.

The big truck was finally ready and able to start the tree cutting procedure. Excitement  in Gartengasse.

The little basket at the end of the long arm of this crane! Imagine the marvel of technology, where it can hold the weight of two grown men while hovering ten or more meters above ground.

It really is a smallish basket, isn't it? Huge respect for those two men.

Navigating the foliage jungle!

It is snowing wood shavings! One was cutting with the chainsaw while the other one was holding the soon to be cut off branch before lowering it gentle to the floor beneath. Okay, at times he just dropped it.

These two tall fir trees are next on the list of being chopped down to size. It pains me to do this but they have really grown too tall and some of their branches are growing onto parts of our barn.

Our barn can breathe again and be blessed with plenty of sunshine. Let the clean up begin...many trips ahead for Bob and I.

It felt awful having to tell them to cut the whole tree down, but it had to be done and there will be ample more opportunity to plant new trees, but plant them well away from houses and power lines...
