The simple ideas always seem the best, don't they?
At first I didn't notice them. The flowers were getting all my attention, but when I tried to take a closer look with my trusty camera, I saw them. Wow. Burgenlanders are an inventive lot. Fantastic.
Just imagine the endless possibilities this provides:- no more taking your empty bottles to the recycling container...although, if you like wine you might need to plant a lot of flowers!!
- when it rains, it will rain into the bottle. There is your next lot of water when it doesn't rain.
- a creative garden experience for your visitors and friends to go gaga over. I did.
It was the first time I saw this. Obviously I have seen half buried bottles before but those were left overs from parties. What might also be a nice idea is to put lids on the bottles and before you do so, add a little note into it.
A message in a bottle.Look you could make it a reminder for yourself or you could put money into it. A savings bottle. If you are anything like me, you would forget you put it there and be so happy to stumble across it a year or two down the line...A mere 500 meters further down the road, is this interesting collage. It could be called Nature's Artwork...how perfect this red flower is in front of the derelict Kellerstöckl. Walking past it, it makes one stop and look at the incredibly ornate door. An old wooden and beautiful door.
Many would see the falling down Kellerstöckl but a few would see the flower pointing to the stunning wooden original door...Somehow if you look for the good you'll find it and vice versa.
By the way, it is for sale together with an adjacent one at the foot of the Eisenberg vineyards. ( Scuttle bug has it that the price is Euro 40 000...no price on the sign. Eh, why is that? )
