The Winds Of Change.

No more predictions...

Of course the warm climes of a few weeks ago have led me along into the belief that the icy cold of winter was a thing of the past. Who could have foreseen those tricky cold winds that have arrived with a vengeance and from all sides too. Yes, it is cold again.

Funny how a mere breeze can make most of us feel uncomfortably cold. Even the men standing outside for their quick puff of smoke kept hopping about from one foot to the other. In vain. Icy cold.

Talking of smoking outside, it is fabulous on the one hand having a smoke free restaurant or Buschenschank, but on the other hand, a new social group is forming. One that we non-smokers cannot be a part of. This afternoon while we were at a local Buschenschank, I could see some new friendships forming. Smokers do come in all shapes and sizes and around the ashtray none of that matters...he who has a lighter is the darling of the group!

Yesterday we even had a flurry of snowflakes twisting outrageously between the varying gusts of wind. Charming to behold through the window of a warm lounge but not charming enough to venture outside in order to say that one has played in the snow. Never mind that when the sun beckoned forth after lunch most of the snow hastily shifted back into liquid form. Honestly, the indecisiveness of winter...

Despite grumbling about the bitingly cold wind and weather, I am secretly rather pleased because as they say; ' a new broom sweeps clean ' and why shouldn't that apply to gusts of wind as well...
