Fields of food...
There are plenty of soybeans being grown in our area and so far it seems as if every second field is planted with soy. Marvelous.
Of course these masses of soybeans aren't grown for me to have as tofu and co, but really, they are grown to feed the animals which ironically we then eat as food.
That seems a big waste of resources because eating soybeans is tasty, healthy and cheap. No need to get the nutrients of soy second hand!
The colours of the soybean fields are almost changing daily and getting more golden, soothing and dare I say, pretty. Yes, harvest is nearing....
Almost translucent.
So far I haven't really eaten plain soybeans much as it is much easier to eat them made into tofu. There are so many types and flavours of tofu on the market, but I still prefer the plain one which I love to eat as a snack with a dollop of mayonnaise or as part of a stir-fry.
Bob loves eating tempeh, which is fermented soybeans. Super healthy!
A bowl of gold. The sun couldn't have been more helpful in providing perfect lighting.
These leaves are so delicate, shiny and pretty, brightening my day and hopefully yours too.
