The Tree Cutters Have Arrived...

 A nominal visit of sorts.

Our electricity company is going to cut two huge, stubborn and overgrown trees in our backyard, free of charge. Yeah, what a saving and only because these stubborn trees or should I say thankfully because these trees are growing their branches onto the electric cables. Too dangerous for us to trim, so the professionals have arrived.

They came to assess the situation in June and told me that August would be the time to expect them. Well, twice they had to cancel due to those hectic storms in the neighbouring counties. Quite understandable, and in any case, time goes fast.

They phoned me yesterday about coming this morning to start the work. Great, I went up to our backyard and yes, they were there. The three of them with a huge truck, a truck which houses an expandable crane of sorts. The big wheels for sure. Even getting it ready took those extra protruded side stilts to balance the truck. It was rather exciting to see it being set up.

The road was blocked off and the driver took to his mobile control unit to unfold the crane, when one of the other chaps noticed something leak under the truck. Gosh, all three were under the truck inspecting this leak and sadly it turned out to be the hydraulic fluid of this crane. Finished, basta, no work today.

Safety comes first and obviously it had to be fixed. The starting sequence was reversed while one of the guys apologized profusely to me. Gosh, it is one of those things and perhaps our tree wasn't ready to be trimmed yet. Off they drove but not before cleaning up the spilled hydraulic fluid. Yip, professionals.

A few moments ago they phoned to say that the truck was repaired and that they are going to be there tomorrow morning....holding thumbs that tomorrow will be the day!
