And There It Is, Monday Yet Again.

 A recurring start.

They sneak up on one. Often in the middle of Saturday Bob bemoans the speed of a spent weekend and a beckoning Monday.  Luckily though, before we can turn around it will be Friday again.

Mondays make us feel as though we have to do a fresh start of something. Be it work, cleaning or diet. Always a Monday and thank goodness there are 52 of them because as much as I like to tell myself that a bout of cleaning might start the week off nicely, so a Tuesday comes in handy as a reserve day. Often not used and hence, fresh starts delayed!

After lunch Maxi was in for a treat. We heard voices outside, mainly a little girl's one followed by a gentle tap on our door. Maxi in his excitement rushed ahead of me and I barely managed to put his collar and leash on before he dashed outside.

Our neighbour and her little girl had come for a visit. I am under no illusion that I was the main attraction. Can't trump a dog, especially a cute one like him. Gosh, he laid on his special level of cuteness and was rewarded with a few treats and plenty of cuddles. Nice to have a neighbourly get-together and chat.

After they left I took him for his long afternoon walk and as cold as it was to begin with, the sun made an appearance and everything felt so much nicer and warmer. Warm enough for me to  haul out the old lawnmower and give our garden a final haircut before winter. Where our bird feeding station is set up, the grass is miraculously lushious and high, almost like an oasis amid a otherwise rather patchy lawn. All those bird poops must be the best fertilizer there is...

This Monday is nearing its end and at least I have made a fresh start in our garden. Little by little the whole gets done, perhaps one Monday at a time.
