Maxi Had His Fur-Stylist Appointment Today And Off We Went En Family!

New family traditions?

The only reason we gave in and took him to the stylist was the love of my fingers and his joy at trying to take mine off the minute I get too close to his eyes. Not worth the trouble and quite frankly, none of us liked our parents cutting our hair when we were teenagers. Drama deluxe!

It was his second appointment today and the three of us headed off to Oberwart. He and I sat in the back while Bob taxied us about. Very spiffy. She booked off two hours for the old boy and I got to say, Maxi tends to get more spoiled than either of us. Apart from his short back and sides he got a bath, massage and blow-wave.

On the way in we passed several petrol stations and predictably and alarmingly the price per liter had gone up by over twenty cents within a week. Talking to people one can't help but hear a collective moan and groan but honestly, even if it was a euro per liter more, it is still a better outcome than having to abandon your house, family and country. Ukrainians would give anything to have the luxury of moaning about having to pay a lot more for fuel. It's all relative, isn't it?

Hopefully this increase in petrol prices will curtail people's needless driving about. Time to aggregate our trips, time to stop driving and start walking, cycling or staying in. The environment can only benefit from this, and it will again show us how little these superficial things mean. I can't help but constantly compare my life with that of an ordinary Ukrainian. How fortunate am I to still have a home, family and normal life. Time we all start to be grateful and thankful for our abundant life.
