The Weather Keeps On Giving Us A Gorgeous Autumn.

Could this foretell a milder Winter?

Last year at this time, we had already had a cold and snowy spell behind us. That was about the last time that Bob did a " snow-dance of joy ". He woke up to a magic white glazing over everything, and to anyone just fresh from the " southern hemisphere " boat, this was great excitement and even warranted an excited Skype call back home!

As the cold of last winter made itself felt through just about every Winter month, Bob was disillusioned very quickly with the magic of snow...Now when there is a cold spell, the calls back home are more like " Aah, it's so cold here. You are so lucky to have heat all the time. "

Well, nature is rewarding him this year with a seemingly never-ending extra time of warm and sunny weather. Not quite the T-shirt and shorts kind, but at least the kind of weather where he can merrily venture outside without his ( luckily hidden from view ) Long Johns!

In the spirit of positive thinking, here is hoping that the " Man upstairs " lets us keep this fabulous bit of Autumn a while longer. Here are a few pictures from an early morning Autumn day, yesterday.

When I saw that old tractor basking amid the sunlight and surrounded by a kaleidoscope of colour, I had to snap it.
The vibrant reds and oranges have turned a wee bit rusty, yet are still picture perfect.
The last bastion of leaves.
A mere branch getting my attention with its proud display of colours in the sunlight.
A gaggle of geese keeping watch outside Eisenberg. Boy, they do make a noise reminiscent of a siren...
Truthfully, I was rather glad for that bit of fence between them and I. Geese do make the best watch-dogs!
