Election Sunday.

A village on the move.

Long awaited and finally here. European elections were approached with mixed feelings by many. Would a vote really make a difference to the perceived mismanagement in Brussels or would it make things better. Well, the only way to change is to cast one's vote. For whatever one believes but vote we must.

The last few weeks our television viewing was dotted with short videos about this and that party and what they would do. Confusing but if one follows one's convictions and blends out those Hollywood moments , it should turn out well.

I was pleased to see so many villagers ( possibly all ) go to the voting station. Each of our district's villages had one. The village elders or should I say chiefs were sitting on one table and what I can only presume were the oversight'ers were gracing a table facing the first. Nothing was left to chance and the slot where the actual envelope with the vote was dropped, was better guarded than Fort Knox. No slight of hand possible.

Now we need to await the results and hope that reason prevailed and that the good of all and not the luxuries of a few were voted for. Interesting times ahead, times that will cast our collective futures for better or for worse.
