A May slightly wetter than normal.
Honestly, I don't really mind the rain as much as all the hindrances that come with it. Laundry doesn't dry either on the line or in the house. Yes, a few pieces are still soaking up the rain as I don't know where else to hang them and I am an eternal optimist expecting sunshine behind every cloudburst.
Cats are fed up at being cooped inside and our dilly Tiggi is bent on confusing a wet driveway with a sandy beach. The other day mum came over and picked up a bedraggled cat and all we saw was a happy cat with thin spindly legs dangling from mum's arms.
Cleaning anything when it is raining continuously is stupid as shoes are often caked with mud and dirt. But, that is country living. Hair, defies all pleas to look decent. A sniff of moisture in the air is ample to cause my hair to go haywire. Literally. I should be careful next to cows lest they mistake my hair for a morning snack.
Tomorrow is yet another public holiday with more rain on the cards. You know that might be just the ticket for a relaxing day inside reading and chilling, although yours truly has to first sit bravely in the dentist's chair to repair her tooth.
Friday should be the first bit of sunshine and a temporary end to the rain, enough to quickly do a few loads of washing before next week's rain schedule kicks in. On the plus side, nature is lapping this rain up with glee and reflecting its happiness by bright emerald greens and growth spurts worthy of a newly minted teenager.
