Maybe a bit of both ?
Who hasn't sat and watched a new Hollywood blockbuster and thought about how very outlandish the plot was. Gripping and exciting for sure, but believable in real life....not very likely !
But then, a year or two later, you see a segment in a news program and it kind of reminds you of this or that movie you have watched. Oh yes, spooky how Hollywood seems to be the forerunner of some scenarios and plots. As you are reading this right now, I am willing to bet that there is a movie you have seen, that ticks those boxes !
This latest example, that almost resembles a George Orwell plot ( PS, the sale of his book 1984: 60th-Anniversary Edition (Plume) has skyrocketed ) does have a touch of Hollywood about it. Remember those oh-so-exciting yet slightly over-the-top " Die Hard " movies and of course Bruce Willis ?
I am a confirmed " Die Hard " fan. These movies somehow are addictive to watch and I confess that I might have seen them more than once ( shhh, Bob, remember as a husband you are sworn to secrecy... ).
Well, wasn't it part of the plot in " Die Hard 4 ( Live Free or Die Hard ) ", that all our digital footprints no matter how faint could and were followed ? Ah ha, it turns out that watching these movies can be a good policy. We " Die Hard " fans have known all along that there are no secrets when it comes to anything digital.
Yes, Hollywood it seems is psychic or maybe just darn clever...
