What, if anything do you remember of your childhood summers ?
Don't we all relive a time in our lives, when we see others going through it ? It could be a new courtship, being at University, or children enjoying their summer holidays.
Well, here is what I remember of those great summers...let me know if you agree, or if I have left out some !
- Waking up late...there is No school after all.
- Meeting up with the neighbourhood kids and playing outside for hours on end, making forts, playing Hide & Seek, or just lying in the grass.
- Going to the Italian Ice Cream shop and standing in front of the counter, not being able to choose among so many flavours.
- Driving to the sea-side for a camping holiday. Of course at that age it was the done thing to fight like Cat & Dog in the backseat with my brother.
- Staying up late. Holidays meant an extended bedtime !
- Having sleepovers at friends.
- Looking forward to buying all the new stationary needed for the next grade.
Life was nice, simple and almost more fun back then !
